Burning feet - worried.

Out of the blue 2 weeks ago I got a really hot sensation in my right foot which felt like I had my foot on a heater - then it went. Then I started getting those sensations more frequently in both feet. This has now turned into more of a feeling of burning in both feet which is worse at night. It's not painful but I'm very worried.

Googled as you do and terrified myself silly. I have a 3 month old and am exclusively breastfeeding and wondering if it could have anything to do with this - ie. hormones. I also got a new mattress recently and my back has been aching ever since so hoping it might be to do with this. But I feel I'm grasping at straws a bit.

Anyone had this? I'm not diabetic as far as I know but have booked an appt with GP. Really scared it's something sinister.

Are u diabetic? Do u have a family history of diabetes?

cherrybug · 02/02/2012 15:54

Not diabetic as far as I know. Maybe they'll test for that when I go to GP but I'd have thought it'd have showed up when getting tested for gestational diabetes when pregnant if I was.

I wish it would go away- very worried its something sinister like beginnings of MS.

Stupid question bit you haven't just started wearing new shoes?

Has anyone in your family got it? MIL and her sister both have this. Now ds says he gets hot feet at night.

Nothing sinister, so try not to worry. Smile

When DD was six weeks old I got a burning feeling in my feet and lots of blisters (like nettle rash). It was also very itchy. It went after about a week but it was bizarre! I mentioned it to doc at six week check but he wasn't interested and it did go eventually! (I was BFing too)

I asked the same thing a few months ago.
Mine started all of a sudden and now I get it about once a month.

Haven't a clue what it is but now I sleep with my feet sticking out of the bed so they cool down.

I have scoliosis so it's intriguing that you have back problems coinciding with hot feet.
