I saw Dr at weekend for tonsillitus which keeps returning very couple of weeks over the last 3/4 months,

As usual wouldn't give AB because of risk of becomming immune, told me (as if I didn't know) people who work with children are more susceptible - but interestingly he had been told by many patients and nurses that taking locally produced honey helps builds up the immune system and can prevent these illnesses he also said it would help stop the tiredness I feel due to pnd.
He had no proof but thought it worth trying.

Anyone tried honey and did it help?

I've heard that local honey can be used to combat hayfever too - not tried it myself, but can't see the harm in giving it a go Smile

I had tonsillitis in my childhood and consuming honey (we always had local honey in our house) did not help. Eventually, the tonsils had to be taken out in my early teens. While honey has its own benefits I think propolis would be better in this case. Boots sells propolis with manuka honey. May be you should try.
