Organic vegetables and Sainsbury's basics ?

Sorry - this may be completely the wrong place to post this question ...

I am just wondering whether people think it is really much better for our health to eat organic vegetables and other foods - or whether bog standard vegetables will do.

We are really struggling to afford the best and our choice of food at the moment and DH is often buying Sainsbury's basics - particularly with vegetables. He says that the basics vegetables are the ones that don't look perfect - but I wondered whether they might have more chemicals on them?

You should try and eat a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, preferably fresh and in season. If money is tight I would not worry about whether or not they are organic - just wash and peel and you will probably get rid of most of the chemicals anyway.
I think organic is good, but more important is not to limit your intake of veg.
