Yes! I take it all the time, really helps. They now do one already mixed with apple juice which is ace. normal iron tabs make me feel sick but I've never had any probs with spatone. It's pricey but worth it.

I tried it and liked it, it's on three for two at boots all the time.

It may depend why you are taking it and where your levels are. I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but I have non anaemic iron deficiency and tried Spatone (two sachets a day) when I had a ferritin level of 16 on a scale of 15 - 150.

I have to say that my level did not drop any further, but it did not rise either, so when I can tolerate them, I take ferrous fumarate tablets.

I had anaemia in my last pregnancy and spatone only kept my iron levels steady they didn't increase over the month I took them. I had to resort to taking the tablets.

Great stuff, got my Hb levels up from 9 to 11 in the space of a fortnight.

SleepyFergus · 27/01/2012 18:26

I took it in my last pregnancy on recommendation from my MW. If you take it in a glass of fresh OJ you don't taste a thing. As someone else said, always on 3 for 2 at Boots.

And it doesn't give you constipation.
