A question about tetanus vaccines

I have been looking at the vaccine threads with interest, and regardless of POV, I see that there are lots of very knowledgeable mums out there!
So, I have a few questions, but I'm starting with one:
I would like to give my DD a separate Tetanus vaccine. We do have a history of autoimmune problems in the family, and I want to be very careful about her vaccinations. She is now 2.
The thing is, I am moving back to England soon, and am not well informed about what's available. My ideal thing would be to get a single tetanus vaccine with no mercury and no formaldehyde. But I don't know if this even exists, or how to go about getting it if it is available.
Any information or pointers would be much appreciated.

That's right. You can't get tetanus on it's own. Dd still hasn't had it. She is 9.

Helloitsme, Pag,

in Germany Tetanol pur from Novartis was licensed in 2002 - maybe you can order that through a private GP?

I am due to check her vacs again in June. I will check that out then. Thanks.

What about tetanus boosters? Are they also bundled with diptheria?

CatherinaJTV · 18/02/2012 21:13

yes, they are - kids in school get dT/IPV, adults either that or dT - however, I was able to pay for dTaP/IPV, which makes me think that it should be possible also to get the single Tetanus.
