Do any of you suffer with numbness as part of your condition or hand twitching?

Thanks in advance.

Numbness how? Twitching, yes, lack of grip, yes, feeling like I am walking round with the flu, yes, nerve pain, yes. Numbness no, not unless i'm extremely cold and my feet go numb.

Always go to the dr if you get any new symptoms.

My fingers go numb if I am trying to do things like peel potatoes or sew. I have to drop my arm to my side until the feeling comes back. The pain goes up the inside (underside?) of my arm all the way to the - is it called the crook? - the inside of the elbow.

I get a similar feeling if I am trying to lift something heavy. (Like a kettle full of water. ) a cross between numbness and tension is the only way I can describe it.

I also have what my husband calls 'twitchies'. I don't know if that's related to the fm or not. When I am overtired I have spasms. I feel like I am getting little electric shocks. I can feel them coming but I am totally unable to stop myself from jerking.

Thanks for the replies, and how was your fibro diagnosed?

Yes I get numbness from my wrist to the tips of my fingers. I usually get it while doing something fiddly or for a long time and just before a flare up.

JustHecate · 26/01/2012 06:27

Basically, the doctor tried to prod me and I yelled "NOOOOOOOOOOO! Don't touch me"

Grin

There's no test for fm, they diagnose by ruling out things like ms and rhumatoid arthritis (sp?) and by going on your symptoms and by trying to prod you, the bastard Grin

They did blood tests and xrays for my rheumatoid arthritis and just said ?You have it. Now find a way to cope?.

I hate some doctors.

greensmurf · 26/01/2012 13:51

I've had all blood tests done and an x-ray but don't have the tender points for fibro. I do have symptoms of fibro but also bone pain including pain right on my spine.

Get numb hands and leg when I wake up and have twitches in my hands.

Was just curious to know whether it's fibro or not and how many of you get numbness and twitches.

Thanks for the replies.
