Bleeding between periods (TMI alert)

Last month I had very slight bloody vaginal discharge (only noticeable when wiping after doing a wee). It wasnt fresh blood and I had this dark spotting about htree times over as many days. I decided that if I had it again this month, I would go to the doctors.

My period started 10 days ago. It was slightly shorter and lighter than previous periods, but to was still reasonably heavy and lasted about 4 days (period is often very heavy and lasts 6 or 7 days). It was a proper period, though, not spotting (I used tampax etc).

This evening I went to the loo and I have a patch of dark brownish blood in my undies.

I have googled 'bleeding between periods' to death and I know it could be an STD, polycystic ovaries, cervical cancer etc. I am going to see a doctor tomorrow to get checked out.

My questions are:

  1. DH and I had quite rough sex on Saturday night. Could this have caused bleeding days later?
  2. There is a small chance I could be pregnant, although it is very small (we used condoms, but that is all).

I am shittingmyself a bit, as I dont feel 100%. My lower abdomen is a bit swollen and tender. No pain, just a tender feeling around my c-section scar (could it be something related to this?). I have also had a bit of nausea

Pregnancy test is negative.

Someone say something, please Grin

I have had something similar recently. I know that in most cases no cause is found but your Gp will probably want to investigate. I have been extremely nauseous today and it's really hard not to think sinister thongs especially with the help of google.
You are doing really well going to the Gp ( more than I have done), I am sure it will be nothing.

Thongs?!!

It could be cervical erosion which would fit with the rough sex. You're doing the right thing going to the docs though. Try not to worry...or Google too much. Good luck :)

How did you get on today op?

MerryHippo · 24/01/2012 21:23

Thanks for asking knackered Smile

I had a smear a just to be on the safe side, so will get results in a fortnight. Doc also referrred me for an ultrasound. She said my uterus felt slightly heavy, which could indicate fibroids, so we will just wait and see.

She did another pregnancy test, which was negative
