Can you sprain your stomach?

I was quite spectacularly sick on the weekend with a 24 hour bug thing. I only threw up twice but quite violently and suddenly. My stomach now feels like it's done 500 sit ups and hurts if I cough or laugh, though I'm feeling completely better other than that now.

Can you sprain your stomach? What can I do to make it feel better? It's not an internal peppermint tea kind of pain but a real muscular pain.

Yes you can sprain it, I think painkillers and a hot water bottle might help

Yes, I'm presuming that you've sprained your stomach muscles in the same way that you could any other muscle.

I hope you feel better soon though, sounds painful

yes. I managed it after a nasty coughing fit once. Bloody hell it hurt. Took a few days to settle down.

Thanks. Dh is being very dubious about whole thing. Will try hot water bottle tomorrow if not better.
