How did your ds1 react? If I were in your situ, I would go by ds1 I think. Although I think green poo can be quite an indication of being upset, not sure.

My ds is also 5month old so prob had same formulation as yours will have. He had no reaction to the first one, but then every baby is different. Although most people I have spoken to recently said theirs only reacted to the 2nd one, which my ds did too. HTH

I was always under the impression that a snotty nose is the body's way of "clearing out" as it were, after the cold, maybe he's getting over it?
