When I feel feverish and take my temp it is always low (from a 36.7 baseline)...

What's your normal temp? Mine is around 36.2, so if I have a temperature when ill of about 38 people thinks it's only a small rise, where to me it's almost 2 degrees above normal IYSWIM.

Sorry, just read it's 36.7. Does it drop below that or not rise much above it?

HauntedLittleLunatic · 22/01/2012 14:02

Normally 36.6 or 36.7.

When I feel mildly feverish I go down to 36.1ish (as I am now).

When I feel 'really feverish' it does go up 38+

I suppose if you take your temperature under your arm or using one of those forehead strips you might get an initial lowering of temperature as the body tries to reduce blood flow to the extremities in order to reduce cooling and eventually raise the core temperature.

Ear thermometer.

My hands and feet are freezing.

DD's hands and feet would turn cold and blue when she was brewing a fever, when she was a pre-schooler.

It scared the shit out of me, but the GP was very laid back about it. And she grew out of the colour change. Curl up under the duvet with the electric blanket on, and take a dose of paracetamol or ibuprofen.
