after being taken in last week, he had his gall bladder removed on Saturday morning, he then had a collapsed lung, and apparently his gall bladder had gangrene??? I thought gangrene only occured on open wounds outside the body - didn't realise you could get it inside?

My godfather had a gangrenous (sp?) intestine. Really nasty but once dealt with he lived very happily for another 18 years.

He's self employed too as a builder (has been since before he married my cousin about 13yrs ago - and was just about to start a really big project too.

SIL just had gangrene on her large intestine; mad dash to emergency room, she could have died. It's one of the known risks of the stomach-stapling operation she had about 5 years ago.
