eek...sounds like you had a lucky escape! I've had mine removed now but when it was in I could never feel the strings. The only way I knew it was still there was when the next period started and was really heavy (copper coil side effect)...that's one of the reasons I had it removed.

Can I just ask how you found out? Was it because you couldn't feel the strings and went for a check up? Have you had a scan to make sure it's not gone up into the womb rather than fallen out?

Discovered AWOL by smear test nurse. Had scan yesterday using internal wand probe. Fabulous experience. I did have a very heavy period a while ago which I will not describe - that's prob when it came out
