PanOxyl Aquagel - Is This Meant To Happen?

I suffer from the old spotty chin problem, and saw PanOxyl Aquagel recomended, so bought the 2.5% stuff and started to use it. On day 1 there were no problems, so used it agian on day 2. Within a few hours the area was red and peeling a bit- I wasn't too worried as this seems to be normal, but by day three the area was really red and a bit sore, by day 4 even worse and today, day 5 it is no better. It's red, sore and feels sort of lumpy to the touch.

I haven't used any more since day 2, and have been putting E45 cream on the past few days. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or some sort of allergic reaction. Have I used too much and did I do the right thing stopping using it- it almost feels like there is a layer os hardened skin waiting to come off now and I don't know whether to persevere with it or not. TIA.

Happened to me when I was using too much. It felt chapped and looked awful, it peeled off within a week or two.

I've stopped using it.

same thing happened to me. I ended up with blisters all over my chin which then burst and left me with some very attractive looking scabs for days. It was disappointing because so many people on here rave about the stuff!

Thanks for the replies, and sorry to hear others have had this happen to them.

I'd heard great things about it too and was looking forward to a lovely new chin Hmm

It's so sore, like sunburn and tight and uncomfortable, not the slight reddening and peeling that people say. Thank goodness I only got the 2.5% stuff- the chemist was giving me the 10% when I asked for it!
