Canestan pessaries for thrush- possibly tmi!

I was going to name change but what the heck...

I took some Diflucan which didn't seem to help, so 2 weeks later used a canestan pessary. It is now 7 days since I used it and the whole thing- slightly softer than when inserted but still almost identifiable as pessary- has just appeared. Shock

I am used to them taking 2-3 days to dissolve but 7 seems amazing! Meanwhile I am wondering if it did any good as it has made its appearance almost whole.

Anyone else found this and will it have worked?

I suppose you will only find out if the symptoms haven't gone away in the time indicated on the packet. If not, try the canesten cream pessary. Much better and more comfortable. Really though, you should see your GP if the symptoms haven't gone as it could be something other than thrush. Mind you- if it hasn't dissolved then perhaps the cause of the thrush is a dry vagina or its not thrush and the dry vagina is causing you redness and discomfort. In any event I would see your GP! Good luck Smile.

Hmm, I used the pessary a while ago and it dissolved overnight, left a chalky residue all over my thighs when I woke up. I had quite a lot of discharge though with my thrush. If you have not noticed any extra discharge then it may not be thrush, I always flood with the stuff when I get it. The pessary also worked right away and the thrush was gone a day later.
