Hi, I am a UK expatriate living long term in Africa in an area highly endemic for malaria. I would really like to conceive but know there is no antimalarial that is proven to be safe for the first trimester (apart from chloroquine/proguanil which is resistant here). I'm thinking about just coming off my antimalarials and covering myself up with DEET or Mosiguard but was just wondering if anyone out there had had a similar problem getting pregnant while living in Africa and what you did?
