Last night I had a sore throat, my tonsils always go sore when ever I get ill in any way.

I was awake from 1 with body aching all over, had ponstan for pain which is taking the edge off but can't sleep. I don't have a runny nose at all. Head is pounding as soon as pain killers wear down. Temp 39, shaking with cold hands. Also feel the need to wee allot and not much happens when I go, not hot or sore.

Is this flu?

Dh away with work, bil and sil looking after my kids but they want to go at 2pm. Can hardly walk, feel dizzy if I stand too long.

I gave blood Friday, would that make a difference.

The weeing bit woud make me think uti, they can be brutal.

Yup, but had one years ago and it felt like weeing lava. Can you get a uti without the heat?

I have, is your tonsills still sore?

Confuzzeled · 15/01/2012 12:49

Yes but they always flair up whenever I am run down. Doctor keeps threatening to take them out but managed to control it with manuka honey and my home made lurgy juice.
Feel like I need to wee every 15 mins or so. Drinking plenty fluids so passing it.
If it is a uti, will it just pass or do you need a doc appointment. Can't remember what I did last time.

Haven't felt this bad in a long time Sad

If you feel so ill i'd go to dr. A uti will need antibiotics.

I got my tonsills out a few years ago and although it was hideous at the time, it was the best thing I could have done. My general health was really run down with them getting infected so often.

It would be worth seeing the doc because you could have an ascending urine infection, causing the fever, shakes, frequent weeing and aching.

It might be viral but flu doesn't tend to cause the frequent urination you're having.

Do you have pain in your back or sides?

Try and get an out of hours GP appointment and have a urine sample ready for dipping.

Thanks I'm in Scotland so I'll call nhs24. My lower back is really sore too, have almost finished af so assumed it was that but maybe not.

I'm petrified of getting tonsils out, but may come to it soon, glad getting yours out helped you.
