Gynae 'issues' constant bleeding :-(

I have seen a GP, and will be asking for a referral to a consultant and am def not pg.

For the past month I have been bleeding constantly, started off as spotting, then was period-like, then gushing and clots (TMI, sorry) now back to period-esque.

I had 3months of bleeding 3 yrs ago and had to have a a hysteroscopy with D&C type procedure, originally they said it was polyps then they said it was just increased endometrium lining.

Anyone had anything like this? Or a dr who can explain what on earth is going on? I feel a bit drained and shitty.

First thing I wondered about was your age....as this sort of thing can be common with women of a certain age.

You've had a hysteroscopy...a good look around.

Could it be that the increased endometrium lining now needs dealing with?

Sometimes women can get irregular bleeding for no apparent reason....it can be hormonal changes...lifestyle...different things.

You are doing the right thing. Best to go and get checked out again and discuss what can be done if your symptoms continue.

Good luck!

Huh? Why did Bobby's message get deleted Hmm

I had a laporoscopy at 16, they thought my ovaries were slightly polycystic.
I had hysteroscopy a couple years ago, they removed the increased lining then. And i was happy, all seemed normal for a bit!

I dont fancy the idea of surgery again if it will just return, i am now 25.

Thanks for the luck though, i guess it is just a waiting game,

Can't see any reason for your problems then (if you've had the extra lining removed already).

I know these things can be a real worry though....but hopefully your consultant will be able to give you some reassurance.

In the mean time....it might be worth getting your iron levels checked. All that bleeding can't be doing you any good.
I had a month this year (August) when I had something very similar. Had lots of checks and tests but it was nothing spooky at all.

Your GP can also prescribe medication to help with the bleeding...so definitely worth going back.

have they requested you have an ultrasound ?
are you taking or using any type of contraception such as pill or implant etc?

crazynanna · 13/01/2012 15:13

Fibroids?

rootietootie · 13/01/2012 15:26

I had similar bleeding to yourself and went to gp/consultant and diagnosed as having erosion of the cervix. I got it cauterized (sp?).

littleducks · 13/01/2012 15:57

I am not that worried Blush more fed up! I am not on any medication, didnt have fibroids in the past but it is a possibility now I suppose.

I expect I will need to be scanned, it hasnt been mentioned yet

I was considering going on the pill, so if it were a hormone balance problem that would be adjusted.
