I'm wondering if nobody is looking at other threads because they think it's about Lily Savage! So - another thread - Regina O'Grady Foundation

thanks for that Jan

I will be herding my entire family into one of the many specialist Skin/Mole clinics over here at the end of the summer for a full check.

Janh - you are an angel - thank you

Hi Suzy
Regina was my friends sister - the site is in its infancy stages as it co-incided with the first fundraiser but it will progress more in the near future.

Thanks for reading

I am in Australia and they are very clued up over here, but I didn't know the bit about melanomas being commonly found on the lower legs I will put moe SPF on my legs in future

Mishmash · 15/01/2006 23:41

Suzy - yes do that - Regina's cancer (which I will verify 100%) was related to too much sun

Emerdale · 22/01/2006 01:11

BUMP
Can't believe no-one is interested here

suzywong · 22/01/2006 06:15

I ran this past my gp when I took ds1 in to have a spider bite checked and he said that for immigrants from less sunny countries who cover up and slip slap slop as soon as they arrive in Aus, then there is less danger of developing a melanoma than native Aussies who have been burned very badly maybe only three or four times in their lives, usually as kids.

However, people like me still need to keep a close eye on any changes to our moles and take the danger seriously - and above all protect our children from burning .

Just a bump cos it is Regina's birthday on Thursday next

fairydust · 30/01/2006 23:04

sites like this are very important - unfortunatly cancer is a nasty wicked thing that takes the lives of our loved ones away - if this site can make one person check moles etc then it's well worth it.

here's another bump and i'll shut up now
