Hello, does anyone have any recommendations of any exercise/ yoga/ pilates etc DVD's that would help strengthen core muscles to help support lower back pain ? Or, any specific exercises that might help ? Have an old horse riding injury which is giving me a lot of pain lately and what with added weight of having dd 21 months ago (which won't shift) - it's making life pretty difficult at the moment.

I do pilates every week and I find it great for my old hip injury - it used to 'niggle' often and now it's really rare for me to have any problems at all. But I would really recommend that you go to a class, at least for a couple of terms, because it is very easy to not do it right - you can go through the motions without actually getting any benefit, because it is all about very small, very precise movements. On the other hand, you could also make things worse if you did it wrongly, or went too fast with the back exercises. A good teacher will have no more than a dozen people in the clas and will spend a lot of time checking your positioning and making sure that you're OK.
