Chronic UTIs Support Thread

Hello.

I am awaiting a diagnosis, I have been having real trouble with my kidneys and accompanying doodahs and wotsits since the birth of my son six years ago. I've passed stones twice, had five kidney infections and can't even remember how many UTIs I've had.

We've ruled out reflux so far, I need more intensive tests though. In the meantime I get cystitis, UTIs and kidney infections fairly often, I'm currently on antibiotics for this UTI which came on quite quickly yesterday.

I just thought it might be nice to talk to some people who know what it's like. I'm currently having low down spasms every minute or so, which pain relief isn't touching, taking antibiotics and praying they are the right ones, worried that I might end up in hospital again after the infection I had in the summer which took weeks to clear and left me exhausted for months.

I'm feeling decidedly horrible, have had thrush for a week or so, and now have open sores on my scalp from some sort of skin infection. Worry about how much my ill health is affecting my romantic relationship, feeling completely unattractive and even a bit dirty with all this going on.

Am I alone in having these horrible infections all the time?

Bumping this up.

I'm being sick today, so I either don't get on with the antibiotics, or the UTIs a bad one, either way I am feeling really rubbish. Have sat through an hour making pictures with DD so I don't feel guilty putting her in front of the television again today. Still twinging away painfully, but at least it's not any worse. Foresee a change of antibiotics, the bug was resistant to this one last time, but this is the one they always start with.
