why does every antibiotic make me sick? Anyone else as feeble as me?

No matter what antibiotic I have I get sick . It starts with nausea, drowsiness and ends up with me on the loo, a lot. I've been 10 times today and it's getting worse.

I was prescribed metronidazole for possible c.diff / IBS and by day 5 (yesterday) I was feeling like death warmed up. Today I'm moping about the house wandering back and forth to the bathroom. I'm pee-d off as I won't be able to go to work tomorrow if I continue.

Am feeling very sorry for myself. And it's made no difference to my stomach . Luckily I do have an endoscopy in 3 weeks which might discover what's going on.

Metronidazole is a real bastard for turning your gullet to fire Meglet and for gastric upsets. Surprised the medics chose that one considering you already have an upset digestive system. Worth talking to the docs again?

Amoxicillin. The squits every time. Won't let them give it me now.

sportsfanatic Its apparently the best one for killing any stomach bugs , it was prescribed by my consultant. Last day tomorrow but I think I'm going to ask for annual leave as I'm not up for work but want to finish the course off just in case it does work .
