Chest Infection symptoms

Does anyone know what the symptoms of a chest infection are? A cold/fluey thing has been doing the rounds at work and several people have now got chest infections and I have no idea what it is.

High temperature
Sometimes bad cough thought sometimes with ds it gets better before infection takes hold
Burny pain in windpipe
General horrible very ill feeling.

Are you actually ill at the moment? Your OP is worded a bit strangely to me (sleep deprived brain)

Thanks for reply - I am trying to educate myself! Keep hearing about chest infections but no real idea what they are!

Sometimes you can hear a crackle in your chest.
Lots of green phlegm.

Its just when you have mucus which has caused an infection in your lower respiratory tract. Just the chest equivalent of an ear infection / throat infection / urine infection...
