Hey guys

A fter heavily bleeding and stuff tonight I took myself to the emergency doctor tonight and when I was there they took obs and everything. Said my temperature was high and wanted to test me for uti so I did a sample and passed a huge pinkish jelly like thing the sizw of a fist! I'm so paranoid now that there's stil some left and I'm gonna hemmorage in my sleep. :( I have am infection apparently and he gave me antibiotics and stuff to stop the bleeding

I can't sleep now as I'm terrified I will die, can someone reassure me? My pelvic floor hurts so much tho, is this probably the infection or something? I don't know what an infection feels like but have so much pain and pressure in my vagina, perinium and rectum.

Please reassure me I am petrified

Oh dear I am sorry I know nothing about this so can't be featuring but [hug] couldn't read and run. Wishing you well.

Featuring? Reassuring I meant!

Did the doctor know that you've recently had a baby and had a look there ? You should contact your midwife about this or the local maternity unit just to be sure.

If you are still feverish check again with your GP and ask about getting a scan done so they can see if there are any retained bits. Sometimes you might need a different antibiotic. If you get heavier bleeding or feel worse then go to A & E. Sorry you are going through this - I had PPH at 4 weeks after birth and it's normal that you are anxious. Hope you will be ok soon.

mrsbossyboots · 29/12/2011 21:22

I had 2 PPHs after DC2. I was given antibiotics after the first and advised to call an ambulence if it happened again. I found lying down stemmed the flow both times. I was taken back to the Obs ward and had last bits removed. I would call your midwife if you are concerned.

Thanks. I was given trasmexic acid or whatever its called and its lightened the flow a little. Antibiotics making me feel a bit under the weather and I'm not hungry. Csnt sleep ever but laying down and resting had helped a little. I don't know if I have a fever, bit shaky through not eating much but not sweating badly or anything. Hopefully the antibiotics will help.

Forgot to mention I have a scan on the 2nd jan so hopefully things will be resolved.

I hope you feel better. If the flow increases, I'd go to A&E as coco9 suggests but hopefully that won't be necessary.

LuSmithTheMyth · 31/12/2011 11:32

Well I had an early scan on a whim yesterday and they swore they couldn't see anything else in there though I hadn't drank enough water but they said the picture was fine. I started bleeding heavier again yesterday and was prescribed more anti bleeding stuff which has lightened flow but am on antibiotics for infection so hope they have kicked in by now. I passed a small piece if tissue this morning but perhaps the small bits wouldn't have shown. Maybe the infection will clear off with meds and I will start recovering.

T hanks for the support people :) I'm hoping to be my normal self again soon.

Hi . If its any consolation this happened to me with my first two and basically it will come away without any pain . I also had to have a scrape on the second but honestly its nothing to worry about and more common than you think

LuSmithTheMyth · 01/01/2012 19:02

Thanks.. well the infection was awful but I'm definitely feeling a little better now I have antibiotics.. don't know if the bleeding is also due to the depo so I shouldn't really expect it to stop completely but its calmed with the tranexamic acid tabs and I'm feeling less in pain :)
