im in severe agony - doc thinks ulcer

I've been having pain in right abdomen few times a year for several years now. Last time it happened I had a scan and doc said no gallstones.
Yesterday the pain started up, by last night I was in agony, it hurt to move , I couldn't take a breath without severe pain and u can't bend over. I got no sleep last nite and was writhing in agony at one point thought was having heart attack! Had fever and chills.
This morning pain still there but is more in the centre of stomach drifting to the right. I can't eat I feel very full despite having not eaten. I can only walk very slowly and hunched over. Fever has gone.
So gp gave me omeprazol and codeine for the pain. Just wondering if a ulcer can cause this severe pain?? I was in tears last night and wish id just called a taxi to the hosp to have it looked at.

My instinct would be gallstones - I had them a few years ago and it was the worst pain in the world, including childbirth. Really thought I was having a heart attack. Pain radiates up to the right shoulder blade and you can feel ill for a few days after. If it happens again, get yourself off to A&E and they can give you morphine for it.
Did you take codeine before or after the attack happened, by the way?When I was having gallstone problems - and ever since - I couldn't tolerate codeine at all.

When did you last see your GP? I would get checked again to rule out appendicitis or ovarian cyst. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks guys only got the codeine this morn and it hasn't really touched the pain at all. They said pain too high up for appendix or anything of ovarian nature. I'm going to have to go to hosp this evening I think if next lot of codeine doesn't do anything, I can hardly walk and can't move without terrible pain. I'm heavy breathing as I can't take a proper breath in without pain. Thanks guys

Definitely go to hospital, you poor thing - sounds like pancreatitis possibility (my mum had it last summer, worst pain she'd ever had).
