You poor thing. I feel your pain.

I find the thing that makes the biggest difference is washing rather than wiping. Wiping does nothing but aggravate everything and doesn't quite get things clean enough which in turn doesn't help. Of course it's easier if you have a bidet, but really, really worth trying.

Germaloids or Anusol cream or ointment also help, especially before a poo to help everything slip out without hurting. You can get suppositories too for really bad times.

And of course look at your diet - keep healthy to keep everything moving.

Thank you! I will try those things!

Does using Kandoo agrivate things too? Xmas Grin

This was me a couple of weeks ago ( it was thrombosed - gross). went for a 4 pronged attack of lactulose ( available over the counter, I think), the cream, all bran for breakfast and So much water You could hear me slosh when i moved.

It worked, not instantly, but that probably depends how bad the situation is.

Thanks for the advice. I called the doc last night as they suddenly got worse, and she prescribed a different cream which seems to be working. And a tip for anyone reading this with a similar problem, do not wear knickers or 'bottoms' in bed, let the air get to the area! And as much as possible, leave the 'area' alone. Over application of creams and ointments can be counter productive. Worth a try!
