Methotrexate & alcohol over Christmas

started on MTX this year & I am very careful about not drinking since I started taking it. This is a big thing for me as i used to have a couple of glasses most nights.
However with Christmas coming up I wondered what other people do, whether they indulge or not.

So far all my blood tests have been normal.

My consultant has always said I can have a drink (and not just at Christmas) but not get drunk. However by having a drink he meant a couple of units maximum a couple of times a week. So I do. Has never has any effect at all on my bloods. I have been on MTX for 10 yrs on and off.

I've had the odd drink on MTX and been fine. I was advised not to drink on the same day I take the pills though. I'm now on injected form, not sure if the same applies.
