Can certain drugs bring on motion sickness/vertigo?

I never had any problem with motion sickness before I took temgesic and morphine for gallstones about 10 years ago. I had my gallbladder out a few months later, but at one point I was taking prescription morphine or temgesic daily to cope with the pain of constant attacks.

The drugs meant I was in bed most of the time with motion sickness/vomiting if I got up or moved at all (even though I took stemetil with them) but this was much better than coping with the pain of the attacks with the painkillers!

However, since then I've suffered from terrible motion sickness (I can only take paracetemol for pain relief now - I haven't touched stronger drugs in nearly 10 years) and sometimes I can't even watch TV without it making me sick.

I've mentioned this to several GPs but they all say that the drugs I took for the gallstone pain won't be causing the motion sickness/dizziness now, but they're at a loss to how to deal with it - I'm pretty much expected to put up with it...

Has anyone else experienced this?!? I can't even sit in the same room as DP playing his XBox as the images on the screen - even in my peripheral vision - make me sick! Xmas Sad

I agree the drugs probably aren't causing the problems but surely those symptoms warrant investigation? Have you had your eyes and ears tested?
