hello topsy ! I had them last year for the first time- they really, really hurt - just keep his feet warm, not too many changes of temperature..

I'm a podiatrist, no miracle cures for chillblains.

It's all about prevention. Going from cold to hot sets them off, so if he gets very cold feet and puts them by the radiator/in a bowl of hot water/ by the gas fire when he gets home that will set them off.

So to prevent them you would keep the house warm, wear thermal long johns and socks (dont laugh I am wearing mine now), thermal shoe liners and dont smoke.

I used to get them loads when I was a student topsy - I used snowfire ointment - which helps a bit, I've heard tiger balm is good too (I think they both have similar ringredients)

ingredients - what are ringredients when they are at home? Confused

i used to have them on my feet as a child and they drove me flaming insane with the itching they caused.

i got some sort of ointment from the chemist, it sorted them! i wouldnt put up with the pain of them, i would see a pharmacist.

I think I will pick him up some tiger balm and try that .
We know about how to prevent them , but the ones that he already has are very painful for the moany old bugger poor man .

Thanks all Smile
