I have an area of lumpy raised rash on my breast and side of my neck. A gp, not my own, today said it was a staphyloccal but couldn't treat me as I'm not her patient. I am 12 weeks pregnant, and obviously will be calling my own gp first thing tomorrow, but I'm concerned about any affect this may have on my baby. Am I led to believe this is a nasty infection?

Please put a paranoid mummy to be's mind at rest Blush

Most skin infections are caused by staph.

No need to worry Grin

Shouldn't have any effect on the baby as long as you are generally well in yourself. If you feel ok but rashy then just call your GP in the morning. If you feel unwell in any way call OOH now (to be fair, I would be saying that to anyone with a rash, pregnant or no!)
