Thrush - shouldn't it start to feel better fairly soon after using

a pessary?

Really bad dose of thrush this time - worst for years. Used a pessary on Friday but it's still not feeling much better. I'm sure that usually this clears it up almost straight away. Is this something else?

It might be bacterial vaginosis which needs anti-biotics.

I had to use two pessaries once and the thrush still didn't go. Ended up taking an oral capsule which did the trick. I tend to try this first now.

I will try a capsule first. I can't get to the GP this week but if it persists I will have to try,

yes it often takes me a couple of tries to get rid of it usually a pessary and oral tablet needed if it is bad.

I had to go to the gp last week with the worst thrush I have ever had, was awful.

She prescribed a pessarie a night for three nights alongside cream x3 times a day. After a couple of days it was so much better.

IME the pessary takes 2-3 days to dissolve- have you had evidence of it dissolving- cos it does come outvery obvioulsy!

If not, then it won't be working properly.

The oral tablet takes 2-3 days to work too and it does say take another after 1 week if no improvement.

It is a bit better today but I am still popping out at lunchtime to get an oral tablet.

Sometimes it takes lots to clear a bad dose up, I got given up to ten days of the tablet because it wouldn't clear.
