should prob start with a tmi alert.....

have had a hemorrhoid (singular), which I'm mortified about, not pregnant & never had them when I was. anusol did nothing so after about a week I fessed up to the dr who gave me steroid cream. have used it for 5 days and it's getting worse, not better :(

am going away for 6 yr anniversary in 2 weeks & desparate to get rid.

went back to dr today & was given suppositories as well, am meant to use tonight, have never used before & worried it'll be painful, anyone used them?

no scare stories please, am scared enough already. really fed up with contant pain & discomfort.

also, anyone know if homeopathy helps? i'll try anything!!!!

lolalois I can sympathise! Just recovered from identical problem. painful to walk, stand, sit, lie down basically do anything!! Mine lasted for about a week but was treated with scheriproct and is now almost fully healed. Use a mild laxative like sennacot, these helped me enormously. 1 tip from past experience is to wet the suppositories first b4 insertion.
Hope you get some relief soon.

oh dear, poor you, glad to hear it's better though. so embarrassing cause you don't feel you can tell anyone, especially at work!

have never used a suppository before, thanks for the tip. am leaving it till before bed..... dreading it, but hopefully once you get past the first one it gets easier. i've heard they're better at clearing it up.

really relieved to have found mumsnet forums, good to know i'm not the only one....
