I've got it in my arm - what do you want to know ?

2old2beamum · 03/12/2011 17:40

is this another name for neuropathic pain?

CMOTdibbler · 03/12/2011 17:44

Bit different from neuropathic pain as it is from the sympathetic nervous system. Used to be known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy

What symptoms did you have cmot consultant reckons I may have it but I'm really not convinced after my extensive googling Xmas Grin
I had a dislocation 8 weeks ago.

Googling is a Bad Thing with CRPS. Mine feels like someone has poured boiling water over my skin and a constant sort of electrical sensation. It is very shiny and discoloured, and hypersenstive to touch

If there is any suggestion that you have it, then I'd def recommend starting on physio treatment with desensitisation so it doesn't have a chance to get established

My pain isn't constant and has improved although slowly, and isnt constant, skin is discoloured at times but I'm still in a sling at times, so this makes me doubtful. Was yours following an injury?
