Oh gawd can't believe I'm asking this.I am very Blush.i've name changed too.I am 45! But here you go (tmi so not for squeamish). While washing in the bath,I felt a slight lumpyness at the entrance to my vagina,at the back, where the perineum joins the vagina. When I looked, (and I haven't looked down there since I was last pregnant I don't think,so five years at least) there is a sort of er..frilly area at the edge, well at least there is an edge, where I imagined no edge at all. I went into total panic, looked on embarrassing bodies website and freaked when I saw the genital warts pic.Except mine doesn't look warty really, not individual bumps, more like a ruffle. Also I haven't had sex with anyone bar (very faithful and wart free)) DH for 20 years, only one other partner, always used condoms with him, surely 20 years is a bit long to incubate something warty? Do you have a ruffley bit there ? Maybe its just skin I never noticed before? I've had c-sections so its not post birth damage. It is as though the labia continue round a little bit to form a circle I suppose.Oh i am cringing and imagining a trip to the clap clinic....Get your mirrors out ladies and reassure me. I feel decrepit enough without a knarly old ladygarden into the bargain.

oh op i really don't know about ..erm..ruffles,,but an 47 and have discovered that my whole undercarriage is getting saggy and , ahem, droopy. One of my labia seems to be getting longer and more noticeable - well, noticeable if you are fiddling round down there Grin
Don't have the answer but sympathise!

diamondsaremybestfriend · 22/11/2011 21:43

I would get it checked out, get yourself to the dr. It probably is nothing but it's better to be safe. I dare not get My mirror out.

Bohica · 22/11/2011 21:46

Warts look like warts, you can tell they are warts and are quite individual when they first appear.

Sounds to me like you are having a drooping spurt.

madorbad · 22/11/2011 21:49

Well maybe it is old age sag and droop, definitely the labia look different to years ago,DH thinks I am insane and it is probably just skin but he can't remember as um.. chances for anything other than under the covers in the dark sex (non sleeping small person) have been thin on the ground in recent years.I really don't think I can bear to ask my GP, I think i would have to go to some private gynae. Am just hoping I am being ridiculous as I have a tendency to panic about anything health related.

I did read on an old thread here that if you put white vinegar on warts they go bright white.Apparently this is what the docs do to check? So this morning, there was I,spread eagled on the bathroom floor with my tap cleaner. No white anywhere other than my bathroom sink. But maybe that is rubbish?
sag is depressing but probably preferable to warts.Especially as DH is so grateful for any glimpse of any part of me usually covered by clothing, that I think he won't notice undercarriage sag at all.

OP posts:
Bohica · 22/11/2011 21:58

Grin I bet you will never be able to look at your tap cleaner in the same light again now will you?

It does sound like a natural drop but if it still bothers you you could don dark glasses and a wig to visit the gp.

If it helps, I can't remember the last time DH and I indulged in anything more risky than in the dark under covers sex not since our toddler walked in sleepy eyed with me in the doggy position hanging off the edge of the bed and clinging to the ensuite door Blush

madorbad · 22/11/2011 22:01

Middel age is vile.I had no idea I would ever have to worry about droopage down there. I discovered two white pubes into the bargain, sob.

bohica-snort.I'm glad its not just us under the duvet. And in the spare room to boot as two small children are in our bed with us every night.

We can't be the only 2 on MN!!

I'm fortunate that due to some issues our 9y old is still an early morning visitor to our bed which stops those early morning requests from DH Grin

PattySimcox · 22/11/2011 23:04

As someone who works in a care setting and has seen a fair few ageing ladygardens I can sadly confirm that there is much drooping and sagging that happens as we get older.

PattySimcox · 22/11/2011 23:05

Oh and don't worry about the white pubes - eventually they will all fall out

cakesandale · 23/11/2011 10:37

I am sorry but this thread has made me snort with laughter. I am also very grateful for the discussion - at 49, I have started to notice droopage of my own, and it is nice to have company, even if virtual. It is depressing. Who knew? Sad

madorbad · 23/11/2011 21:31

Vulval droopage vs some gruesome STD,now which is the best option..hmmm..(mulling it over) or possibly I always looked like this and have only just noticed. Now I can't stop peering at it,which is not easy as I haven't kept up the yoga post babies. It isn't HUGE or anything, nothing that would frighten the horses. Oh Lordy,I wish I knew if the white vinegar thing was true and then I could relax. It looks a bit bumpy, but not quite warty.(feels sick and faint again). I wish I was posting in something naice, like pets or chickenkeepers.

I'm so glad you haven't included a link to some pictures.

That's how I read the OP. I thought you were going to ask us to rate it.

madorbad · 23/11/2011 23:10

Heavens, marks out of ten? Droop or no droop, you give the answers!!? I am feeling slightly better,as after punching the words "genital warts" and "white vinegar" into google,(not something I imagined I would be doing this week).there seems a general agreement that docs swab one with white vingegar to check for any small warts as they do indeed show up white. So not warts then.Phew. (partner number one was cheating scumbag,so was preying on my mind). So droopage or some other lumpy thing? I guess I will have to ask a doc,I need a smear test anyway so I suppose I could bring it up then.As you do.
I knew that men changed and dropped over time, but assumed it was a weight/gravity thing. I don't think of my vulva as weighty! Perhaps its the location, after all I nearly gave myself a heart attack when I looked down onto a mirror doing my makeup recently-who was that 90 year old crone peering at me?
