Steroids and their safety?

Is there anywhere I can get DD some reliable info on the side affects of inhaled and oral steroids? We've read the leaflets but her next appointment isn't til February and tonight she's come to me, quite tearful, asking about the long term health implications.

She's a chronic, brittle asthmatic. Her consultant admits her asthma is hard to control. She uses Fostair as a preventer and reliever, on a good day she'll need 20 puffs over 24 hours. On a bad day she gets through much more

DS had medically induced adrenal suppression as a child due to his steroid use. DD knows about this as she was borderline when tested.

I'm worried about her googling it and scaring herself stupid so I wondered if anyone could help?

Thank you.

Should add she needs a course 40mg of prednisolone about once every 4 to 6 weeks. She needs to take them for 10 days and has to taper off as stopping suddenly usually results in an attack. She will need them over Christmas as she's allergic to Christmas trees.
