Appt at Breast Clinic - should I take someone

I have an appt at the breast clinic next week - I found a lump a couple of weeks ago. Im quite sure that its fibroadenoma (sp?) so Im not too worried at the moment. Do you think it would be silly to go on my own tho?

That depends if you want some company while you are waiting around. Dh accompanied me to the clinic but then I was convinced that my lump was bc. It may be that you will not get a definite answer until you get the result from a biopsy maybe a week later. Come and chat to the ladies on the 16th tamoxifen thread in general health while you wait for your results, the waiting is the worst bit and we have all been there. You are doing the right thing getting checked out. Hope it is benign, the odds are on your side.

Gone to both mine on my own. It is a lot of waiting around, see consultant for 10 mins, wait round for hour in scanning room, get scanned for 5 minutes, wait round to see consultant again....

If they need to do a biopsy then you wouldn't get definite news until the results from the biopsy are back. Chances are they might not even need to do biopsy. I wouldn't bother taking anyone.

thanks women. yes, i think i will go on my own, im sure i wont be getting any news one way or the other on the actual day so would be silly to drag someone else along.

ps have been having a sneaky look on the tamoxifen thread. needless to say i think youre all amazing, i hope that doesnt sound patronising, you just seem like strong women in a tough situation. respect duly given.
