Both of these say not to be used for children under 3 months. Does anyone know why? DD is 8 weeks and very snotty - she's quite miserable poor thing :( I can't think of a reason why these could be dangerous for her. Is it companies covering themselves in case an infant swallows some? Or is there a genuine reason why babies under 3 months can't have them? They're only nose-clearing-smells aren't they?!

you can get something similar to vicks vabour rub called snuffle babe which can be used on babies, we used to use if with our ds as he has a low immune system and was always catching a cold/snotty nose in the winter

Have you tried saline drops? They should help clear her nose.

Thanks for those suggestions-will have a look in Boots. Still can't work out why something you sniff could be unsuitable/dangerous for a baby under 3 months though!
