Please can you help my friend?

She has a nearly 13 year old DD, who is developing quite fast. She is very secretive about her body and tends to hide herself when she?s getting dressed. Anyway, she accidentally saw her with her top off yesterday and was very horrified and tearful with what she saw.
According to her, the breast looked very deformed and curved ? the nipples are pointing towards her chest and the breast is shaped like a tube.

I have suggested she take her to the doctors and probably get a new bra from M&S.

What do you think of this? She is still developing as she?s nearly 13, so the breast is likely to correct itself.

She?ll be so grateful for any advice you can give.

I've not heard of anything like this though I do recall reading (in my Jackie comic in my teens!) how girls develop differently and everything settles down but this does sound odd. Has she spoken to her daughter? If her daughter doesn't want to talk to mum, perhaps she could have a chat with ta female nurse at the GP surgery and see if her daughter will go see her?

Does the mum remember how she developed? - ie, does it run in the family and it'll sort itself out.

A visit to the GP (female) would be my first step.

Thanks for replying. I did suggest she ask for a female Doc/nurse. Her DD has said she prefers it if only her mother looks or measures her breast (for a new bra).
She is a very shy and lovely girl.

Avalon, She has never seen anything like this. The females in her family are all quite busty, but not like this.

Does her current bra fit? If not, could it be distorting her development in some way?

Is her daughter worrying? If it is only one breast, surely she is worried herself? Has she said anything?

I'm assuming she is, hence she's hiding herself when getting dressed.

my dd is 14 and has always been shy about her body,I haven't seen her naked for years.I do get a glimpse when she's swimming,check everything is ok.

There is a condition called tubular breasts You could try searching on NHS direct.
