I think I might have jaundice and am ever so slightly concerned.

I noticed a yellow tinge at either side of my eyeballs this morning. When I pulled my bottom eyelids down, the yellowish was more noticeable.

I've just phoned the doctor and expected her to make me a routine appointment but she's booked me in to see the duty doctor today.

I'm now worried. I know I can get a bit low on iron but I don't think I drink too much. Other symptoms are itchiness of the skin, which I sometimes get and weight loss - well I've always been skinny so it's hard to tell.

Someone tell me I'm being paranoid please!

Phew! That'll teach me for googling 'yellowish tinge to eyes', it came up with some scary results and as I also experienced itchy skin (a symptom of jaundice) I panicked. The doctor I saw was very nice and could find no other evidence of jaundice. He said that the whites of our eyes naturally change from time to time, having bloodshot or yellowy eyes could be a sign of a good night out or tiredness or stress. He said my skin looked fine and he felt my tummy - no sign of abnormal liver. I should keep an eye on my eyes and if they stay yellowish or the yellow tinge gets darker then I should go in for a blood test, but he doesn't think I'll need one Smile
