No jokes! An old lady told me that when I wash my hair and the kids hair, to add four drops of lavender oil to the shampoo on my head... tried it last night on me and dd, the lice pretty much were jumping off her hair! My sd tried it as well and agreed that the lice where running from the smell. Of course you do need to comb with special comb too. Had my head checked and there are no lice or nits. Will keep adding lavender oil every time i wash my hair from now on.

Thats my advice - use it or not, your choice...

Also a few drops of tea tree oil/lavender in water in a mister, sprayed on hair when wet & allowed to dry will stop re-infection.

Twiglett · 03/01/2006 09:43

Can't blame the wee mites can you? I too would run a mile if Lavender was in the vicinity!

Twig - naughty naughty

Frostythesurfmum · 03/01/2006 19:57

Thank you. My dsd gets them really badly but we have trouble "coordinating" treatment with her family here and her family with her mum, as a result she has them pretty much constantly. Anything that will help is worth a go! Where can you get the oils from?

Crystaltips · 03/01/2006 19:57

ggg - maybe they are soooo relaxed that they fall off the head
