Has anyone used Gentian Violet to treat thrush?

Am BF'ing and have got thrush and saw on Kellymom that some stuff called Gentian Violet can help cure it. Has anyone here used it or does anyone know where I can get it?

think it's quite an old fashioned thrush remedy that my gran used to use. I think it's reputed to stain clothing! sorry that's not really much help.

I remember trying to track it down 4 years ago when I had thrush in my milk ducts. I had no luck at all, and one chemist said he thought it was no longer sold. Sorry and hope you can get the thrush sorted out.

have you tried proboitics/good bacteria? capsules will usually give better results than yoghurt.
