It seems weird that he would develop an allergy that would make his skin react even through 2 layers of clothing (pants and trousers), unless he drives around in the buff, that is ?!

Seriously though, I would've thought it could be something in the car. Perhaps something they've used to clean the seats or make them fireproof.

Get him to sit on a soft fluffy towel when in the car. Or even better, a little pink pillow with tassles that your Granny would use!!

Seriously, might just be the fact that he's wearing thicker, tighter clothes cause of the winter. I get bumpy arms sometimes when my skins continously covered up.

What's the car made from?
Only time I can think of anything like this happening is when I went canoeing in a fiberglass canoe, and I reacted thru my lurvely wetsuit to the fiberglass but surely the car's not made out of that?
