My DD came home from school scratching her head on Monday and a quick comb through revealed about 10 lice and loads of eggs. We treated with Hedrin on Tuesday and have combed through since, only removing eggs and no more live lice. I plan on using Hedrin again on DD on Tuesday (i.e. 7 days since the first treatment) and will continue to wet comb her hair until no more eggs are found.

However.....today, after helping out in her classroom, I have just found one louse in my hair and after wet combing, also about 20 or so eggs. Ick ick ick!

Seeing as I (think!) I've removed the only living louse, what is the best course of action for me? Should I use Hedrin tonight, or just continue to comb & hope for the best.

Not nice eh? This has good information on how to break the life cycle of the little fuckers. You can buy the Bug Buster Kit or get it free from your GP but I did get fed up of the combing so got Hedrin on prescription. Tell the school so they can send out the usual notice for lazy parents to ignoreHmm You have my sympathies. DD2 was always getting them at a playgroup and I used to get them from her. I treated both of us for weeks on end twice a week but she kept getting reinfected by a child or children whose parents were oblivious despite the notices about it. Bloody annoying. The weird thing is that they don't like DD1. I always check her too and never find anything Confused

Thanks, will take a look. I have three DDs and so far DT2 isn't infected (nor is her 1yo sister) and I am praying that this is not the start of a very long relationship with the little blighters. I never had them as a child so am really oping that we don'tt have the type of hair that they really like.
