Had a transvaginal scan in May for spotting between periods. Nothing found but sonographer could see 'fluid' and wanted me to have a repeat scan at a different point in my cycle. I had this today and the 'fluid' is actually what she says is a para ovarian cyst. She checked the images from the previous scan and the position and size is the same, she just couldn't see the cyst wall before so thought it was free fluid. The cyst is not on the ovary but I guess quite close to it. Apparently the fact that it hasn't changed is good, but the size or borderline for getting it removed. I don't think I've had any symptoms and it wouldn't have been discovered without the ultrasound but I'm quite worried about it. She said to talk to the consultant about it and that is was very unlikely to prove to be anything sinister but I'm thinking at the moment I'd rather have it out. Has anyone had one of these as opposed to an ovarian cyst? And what is laparoscopic surgery for cyst removal like? I've read differing reports about pain, recovery time etc
