Anal Fissure - anyone had successful treatment?

Seem to be in agony for ages now and its not healing. Ive suffered on and off for many years (20yrs) but following the birth of DS2 this one isnt healing.

ANyone had any treatments that have solved the problem - see injections. I tried the special cream many many years ago but used to give more a banging headache.

Nasty!

DH had to have an operation when his wouldn't heal. That sorted it in no time.

sometimes a differnent cream might help - its a calcium channel blocker rather than rectogesic GTN cream. Its a prescription medicine only - but if this fissure is behaving differently from previous fissures, it might be a good idea to ask your Gp to have a look to check it is still actually a fissure.
