It will mean you are not able to have any more children. I had very heavy periods and had a d and c and the myrena coil. Just have light spotting monthly, but friends of mine have no periods at all. I feel like I've got my life back. My friend's Mum had it and she had quite bad stomach ache after and didn't feel very well. Tbh that's to be expected I should think. But is quite happy now. It was recommended to me but I felt it was abit final on having no more children

Thanks for your comments - past children age anyway.

Shall I bump it for you?

I had an endometrial ablation in feb this year as my periods were unbelievably heavy. It has changed my life. I've gone from losing 150-200mls a cycle to losing 20-30mls. I still have periods that last 4 days or so but i can go all day before my mooncup needs emptying as opposed to 25 minutes like before.

I had it earlier this year and it's been truly lifechanging. Very light flow, am still trying to figure out if I need tampons or not, I suspect I could get away with just pantyliners. No more crippling cramps, passing out, arranging work so I wasn't travelling/abroad when due on etc.

You still need contraception as if you got pregnant there would probably be serious complications although I'm a bit vague on that as DH had had the snip so that bit of the conversation was pretty quick.

Can anyone who has had this procedure done tell me if it hurts? I should consider it, but am such a wuss, I am putting off having the conversation with the doctor.

I had mine under a GA so done know if it would have hurt at the time but I had no pain after.
