Urgh! I'm freaking - is something eating me from the inside?

I was walking in Snowdonia this morning. We've just got home and I have found a blood-blister with a bit of swelling around it near the back of my inner thigh. There are darker patches on the blister. Where did it come from? My trousers didn't chaffe. Have I been bitten by something? Worse yet, have I been bitten by something that is still there, and the pressure of sitting in the car for several hours while driving home has pressed it under my skin?

Oh what do I doooo?!

That seems unlikely! Probably an ingrown hair or something. Not many skin-burrowing parasites in Snowdonia I'd imagine! Get someone to have a good look...

Ingrown hair much less frightening! (Thanks Smile)

Dh has had a look at it and ferreted around with sterilised needle and tweezers. He couldn't see any hair, ingrown or otherwise, but neither could he see any creepy-crawly.

And it's not a blister after all. It didn't go down when he pricked it, and there wasn't enough blood given the size of the thing.

So now I'm freaking again.

Confused

Could it be a tick?

PrettyCandles · 02/11/2011 07:15

That's what I feared. But there's nothing there now, just a hard white bump (I've got a clear plaster over it). It doesn't look 'normal' though.

PC

Get this looked at by the GP; it could well be a tick bite.
