Eeuw what is this? Possible TMI alert

This is very embarrassing but I have just found two sort of spots in my pubic hair (tmi). They're not itchy in fact I only found the first one because it was rubbing on the seam of my pants IYSWIM and then had a proper look and found the second one. There is nothing actually on my genitals. All I can think is something awful like (arrgh) pubic lice! But i had DD2 9mo ago and was tested for everything when pregnant and came up fine (no herpes or anything) and dh and I have been together 8 years, no infidelities as far as I know, we are very happy. What could this be? Is it just one of those things? I expect I'll have to go to the docs tomorrow...

A couple of small ingrown hairs, maybe??

pushmepullyou · 27/10/2011 17:21

Could they just be spots?

onepieceofcremeegg · 27/10/2011 17:24

Are they in the hair or on the skin? If they are on the actual skin they may well just be "normal" spots. If this is potentially the case, then perhaps don't rush to the gp?

If they are in the hair, could they not just be "bits" - e.g. clothes shed little bits of fabric or something like that. Are you not able to just pull them out if they are in the hair?

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 17:27

What do the "spots" look like?? If they're not attached to your skin?

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 17:28

Can you pull them out and look at them with a magnifying glass?

It's probably just some fluff from your clothes like onepiece says Smile

elportodelgato · 27/10/2011 17:32

Thanks for the suggestions, they are def spots on the skin under the hair. If it was just one I would think it was just a spot but having found a second one I am not sure. I thought about ingrowing hairs but I am not even slightly groomed down there, must have been months since any topiary was done Grin

Could it be caused by sweating and / or friction from exercise? I have been running a lot recently

Oh I don't think these are so unusual

They go after a few days. Either that or your hair falls out and your clitoris shrivels up Wink

NotQuiteCockney · 27/10/2011 17:36

What colour are they?

Do they hurt?

They could be (among other things):

  • genital warts (don't hurt, are light coloured). Test for this is to apply plain vinegar to the spots (seems like it would hurt, but doesn't). Warts go pasty white in response to this. The effect is unmistakable (although you might need a mirror).
  • a spot. Pimples happen everywhere.
  • infected bartholin's glands - google for this one
SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 17:37

Could very easily be spots IMEO

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 17:37

Bugger that didn't work Grin

DumbledoresGore · 27/10/2011 17:38

What's the E stand for SardineQueen? My mind is boggling Grin

elportodelgato · 27/10/2011 17:40

Hmmm well they don't hurt though one of them is rubbing a bit uncomfortably on my knickers, pretty sure not warts and having just googled the bartholin thing it's not that either. So probably just spots then!

Ok this might sound nuts .... but after you have a baby your hair falls out. I guess it has to grow back, so even if you haven't tided your lady garden for eons a while they could still be growing hairs.

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 17:57

ear?

ZombiesAteYourCervix · 27/10/2011 17:59

I think we need pictures to diagnose properly Grin [boil]

ballstoit · 27/10/2011 18:00

I'm trying to envisualise what they look like...is it a swelling under the skin? Or on top of the skin? I get skin tags anywhere that my clothes rub...armpits, at tops of my legs, even on my ankles sometimes.

If it's a swelling under then skin...is it a particular colour? Is there a hair growing out of it? Does is hurt if you touch it?

elportodelgato · 27/10/2011 18:40

Thanks all you gave calmed my worries a bit and I think I am going to treat them as 'just spots' unless ANOTHER one appears in which case I'll be down the doctors - or posting up pics for you bunch of experts to diagnose Wink

SardineQueen · 27/10/2011 19:25

ballstoit what do you do with your skin tags - do you have them removed?

I grew them all over me when I was pg. It was all a bit Shock DH gets them where his collar is on his shirt as well.
