just read Dinny's thread about UTI.. dd2 who is 4 has a UTI and the doc prescribed antibiotics which I will get tomorrow.
I have some Solgar's acidopholis powder already and wondereed if I can give it to her whilst taking the antibiotics or do you ahve to wait until the course is completed?? anyone?

(presuming it's suitable for her age group) I'd wait until she's completed the course or else the antibiotics will kill of the good bacteria too.

I believe it is more effective to give it as soon as the course of antibiotics is finished. Presumably because the ABs wipe out the bacteria the acidophilus replenishes with each dose, so you are wasting the Solgar until she is not taking the ABS anymore.
Hope she feels better soon. Cranberry juice can help with the symptoms, poor thing.

thanks. Yes it is the kiddy one as the other dd had it when she was merely a babe and on antibiotics. I just couldn't remember when they were supposed to take it. ta

yes, poor thing. she looks awful - this is the 2nd lot of ABS in 3 weeks... she's lost loads of weight, very pale and red eyes. can't wait until she starts getting better.
