Vitamin advice for cold urticaria - plea

One of us in the house has really bad cold urticaria in the winter and it's started already. I've googled around and it seems that anti-histamine benefits wear off quite quickly, plus you have the effects of low grade anti-histamine all the time which aren't good.

Has anyone experience of cold urticaria and vitamin treatment? I've recommended Folic acid and Vit B, but I think I should be going down the Vit D route more. Also any herbal/natural remedies that have worked? We are heavily into wonky tea so you know, infusions of cabbage all welcome, anything really.

At the moment the only thing that has any effect is a very very very hot shower which gives immediate relief but seems to make things worse in the long term.

Any advice very welcome, thanks in advance.

I've suffered from cold urticaria since I was a teenager. I take antihistamines as and when I need them, not every day, depends on where I'm going and how cold it is. One antihistamine usually sorts me out for a whole day. The only time I take them daily is if we go skiing. I've never heard of any vitamins that can help. Sorry to be unhelpful to you, but would love to hear if you do find out about any miracle cures!

I took AHs for about a year, and I seem to have conquered it...nothing now for about a year or so.

I think some are better than others, I think it was loratidine?? Was tesco own brand anyway.
