feel awful - how can I keep nurofen down?

I've got the bug that seems to be doing the rounds and can't keep too much down. We have Christmas on our own, so not a massive deal, but I still need to wrap presents and just want to feel human and somewhat festive again this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

Any suggestions on the best way to keep Nurofen from coming back up? Or should I try something else?

can you crush nurofen, or do you have to take it whole? if not, crush it and mix it in with water and take it in small amounts..like really small amounts...?

You can get caplets that dissolve in your mouth I think. Is there anyone who could get to the chemist before they shut to get some for you ? Or what about getting some of those Flu max capsules that make a lemony drink that you could slowly sip ? (but if you do , don't take any paracetamol after them)

nurofen will irritate yr stomach lining, try some thing paracetamol based and some delicious pink Pepto-bismol,or peptabysmal as it is known in this house. What are r symptoms?

Sorry, meant Beechams Flu max powder sachets. Thinking about it I agree with interstella about nurofen aggravating your stomach.

what are you taking the nurofen for? If tummy bug, are you sure it's going to make it any better? Just try to take in as much fluid as poss. (you could try rehydration liquid... 8 spoons sugar and 1 spoon salt to 1 litre water, but it's pretty horrible tasting I'm afraid).

Sorry you're feeling rough. My ds 1 has had it all week, just wondering who in the family will be next .

Will try paracetamol -- think we have some. I don't think we have anything else and I don't want my husband to have to run to the chemist or find one that's open - he needs to stay and minister to his poor ailing wife . My head is killing me and my body's all achy - really just want that to go and I think all will be ok. (Have d&v too, although that's ok-ish in that we don't have guests and have two bathrooms.. )

Thanks for the tips and I'll stock up on all that's been mentioned here for the next time this happens!
